Style 13788 is the heaviest fiberglass fabric we carry.
This material is 50.2 ounces per square yard, has a breaking strength of 1500 x
1300 lbs./inch and a thickness of 0.0467". Your choice of either BGF's
Volan or BGF's 627 Silane finish - both finishes are soft and work
with any resin. The price for 10 yards or 50 yards
$7.00 per yard for 38". That's less than $3.00 per pound for heavy
fiberglass that leave a relatively smooth surface compared to plain
weaves of the same weight range. You can calculate the weight(lbs) of the roll by multiplying the number of yards by the pounds per linear yard (50.2/16 oz/lb x 38/36") or 3.3 lbs. per linear yard. The net weight of the fiberglass alone will be 165 lbs. for a 50 yard roll and 33 lbs. for the 10 yard roll. For the 50 yard roll then add the core, box and pallet (approx another 50 lbs.) and 15 pounds or so to get an approximated idea of the total shipping weight of the 13788 material.
